Who gets recommended when locals ask Reddit for a dentist or a plumber

01 — The challenge
When someone in a local subreddit asks “can anyone recommend a plumber?” or “good dentist for dental anxiety?”, two or three names get mentioned and the person says “I'll check them out, thanks”. That conversation is word-of-mouth at scale, it ranks in Google for years, and most local businesses never see it.
02 — What I did
- 01Tracked local subreddits for recommendation requests in dental and home services across nine US areas.
- 02Recorded which businesses were named, what people asked for, and the words they used: gentle, patient, responsive, fair price, explains things.
- 03Turned those words into messaging for websites and Google profiles, so businesses win the people who search next.
- 04For clients, set up monitoring and owner-led replies: the owner answers openly, under their own name, with genuine help and within each community's rules.
03 — Process
- 01ListenMonitor local subreddits for recommendation requests.
- 02LearnNote who gets named and what people ask for.
- 03Show upOwner-led, disclosed replies, and site and profile copy that matches what people ask.

04 — Results
ResearchThis is market research, not a client project. See how I run Reddit for local businesses on the Reddit marketing page.
05 — Outcome
Every one of these threads is a customer choosing a business in public. I help owners show up in them honestly, with their own name.
